Mangaluru: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) on Friday January 30 held a protest meet in front of the DC's office here to condemn the glorification of Mahatma Gandhi's killer Nathuram Godse by some outfits.

Prior to the protest meet, SDPI state committee member Alfonso Franco offerred flowers to Mahatma Gandhi statue near Town Hall to mark the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, observed as Martyrs' Day.

Campus Front: New State functionaries elected

Chennai: The new State functionaries of Campus Front of India were elected at the State General Assembly held at Chennai today. The State General Assembly commenced with the hoisting of the flag by State President Abdul Rahman. Later, the General Assembly reviewed the activities of the movement and suggestions were also given by the members to further the movement’s activities.

Protest by SDPI against sinister plan of divisive forces

Mahatma Gandhi, fondly called as the Father of the Nation was assassinated by Nathuram Godse, a member of Hindu Maha Sabha on January 30, 1948. This incident is referred as the first terrorist act of independent India. This was not an act of an individual, but had the blessings of the leaders of Sangh Parivar. Its to be noted that VD Savarkar, one of the leaders of the fascist Hindutuva group was also an accused in this case.

DELHI: 21 Jan 2015 The Social Democratic Party of India-SDPI, while condemning the recent riots in a village in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar wherein six people were reportedly burnt alive along with loss of properties, has termed it as a sinister design of the Hindutva forces to polarize the society in view of the fast approaching general elections in the state which are due later this year.

The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) feels disappointed and despaired at the rise of BJP in the Jammu & Kashmir, (J&K) and Jharkhand elections the results of which were announced few days back. The lack of coordination, cooperation and commitment amongst the so-called secular parties to stem the rot and block the rise of communal forces is responsible for such a scenario which is not heart-warming at all for plural society.

Brotherhood conference held at Trichy

A three day Brotherhood conference was held at Trichy from December 19-21. The conference was organized by Tamil Nadu Development Foundation Trust (TNDFT). The conference exhibition was inaugurated on December 19 by Professional Couriers Chairman Ahamed Meeran. Various exhibits that give an insight into Islam were put at display. A few documentaries that show the true face of Muslims rulers were also shown as part of the exhibition. Thousands of men, women and children of different faith visited the exhibition on all the three days.
