Chairman E. Abubacker visited Pehlu Khan's family who was brutally killed by gau-rakshaks in Alwar, Haryana and extended all kinds of support to fight for justice. Secretary Abdul Wahid Sait, Zonal President AS Ismail and SDPI General Secretary Elyas Mohammed Thumbe accompanied him.
A delegation led by the Chairman of Popular Front of India, E Abubacker visited the families of the victims of mob lynching in Jharkhand. The delegation included National Secretary Abdul Wahid, Zonal President Moulana Kaleemullah and other state leaders. The delegation first met the family of Sajjad who was lynched to death in Shobapur village about 20 kms from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. The accusation was that he was behind the kidnapping of children in the area. On being countered with no reports in any police station of kidnapping, cases quickly changed to cattle transport.
The National Leaders Meet convened by Popular Front of India today at Malabar House, Malappuram in Kerala called upon the people to resist growing incidents of mob lynching and other atrocities against weaker sections by making best use of all democratic and legal means. The Meet reminded Muslims and Dalits who are the prime victims of communal and casteist onslaughts and the secular civil society at large that building broad alliances at different levels by burying all petty prejudices among them is the timely responsibility bestowed upon them.
The Central Secretariat meeting of Popular Front of India, in a statement, warned the people at large about the divisive campaign of the Sangh Parivar under the influence of its anti-Muslim, anti-Dalit philosophy. Though RSS and BJP may need such a situation to achieve their ultimate political goals, the growing atmosphere of Hindutva violence targeting Muslims and Dalits who constitute a major segment of the population would make India an insecure country for all groups, castes and communities.
Popular Front Chairman E Abubacker, in a statement issued on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, conveyed warm greetings to all and prayed for the innocent Indian Muslims who were killed because of their faith by fanatic goons recently in some parts of the country.
