Peoples Union for Democratic Rights condemns the Jharkhand Government for banning PFI, Popular Front of India, without providing any prima-facie evidence to support its decision. Through its official release dated 20th February 2018, the BJP state government proscribed PFI by invoking extraordinary powers provided under S 16 [Powers to Declare Associations Unlawful] of the CLA (Criminal Law Amendment) Act.
Today, (16 March 2018), Sanyukt Sangharsh Morcha organized a seminar at Vinoba Bhawan, Jaipur, which was attended by representatives of different social and political organizations. The participants expressed their views on the current situation in the state and in the country in general. They expressed their concern over ongoing repression and demonization of dissent by the BJP government using government agencies.
New Delhi, 12 March 2018: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has expressed deep concern on reports about the state government of Jharkhand putting a ban on the activities of Popular Front of India (PFI).
New Delhi : Condemning the ban on the Jharkhand unit of Popular Front of India (PFI) by Jharkhand government, leaders of important Muslim organisations and leading figures of the Indian Muslim community considered the ban tantamount to murdering democracy. The Muslim community leaders said in a joint statement that PFI is a nationwide welfare and social organisation offering educational and social services all over the country and helping victims within the limits of the Indian Constitution and laws.
Lucknow: A joint statement issued by Political and organisational leaders in Uttar Pradesh has stated that the ban imposed by Jharkhand government on Popular Front of India in the state is anti-democratic and demanded that it be revoked immediately.

New Delhi: After Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, another prominent Muslim group Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has slammed the Jharkhand’s BJP government for prescribing social organization ‘Popular Front of India’ (PFI). Jamiat said the decision of banning the outfit smacks ‘partisan attitude of the government while Hindutva outfits have been inciting violence and hatred against minorities in the state. It also said Jharkhand witness dozens of mob-lynching incidents but the state government failed to bring the culprits to book.
Popular Front of India leaders visited the victims of the communal violence broke in Uttar Pradesh Kasganj. A team including Popular Front North Zonal president AS Ismail, UP State incharge Moulana Mufti Mohamed Shazad , All India Imams Council UP West State President Moulana Mohamed Shadab, Azeez Qasimi, and Dr. Nijamuddin visited the injured at hospital. The leaders offered to stand with them in their fight for justice.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Pakur in Jharkhand admitted the private complaint of Popular Front of India on Tuesday against Mr. Shailendra Parshad Varnaval, the Superintendent of Police, Pakur and other two police officers, Indu Shekar Jha and Lov Kumar. The complaint was filed by Mr. Obaidur Rahman, the Pakur district president of Popular Front of India against the custodial torture on the members of Popular Front in the month of July, this year, when they were arrested in a false case and confined in the town police station of Pakur.
