Kerala Imams Council

The Kerala Imams Council is the first of its kind that the Ulema (Scholars) organize themselves against the social evils. The “Anti-Dowry, Free the Community” campaign organized by this council drew much public attention. It was a new experience for the general public to see the Imams on the streets in protest. “Emancipation through the Prophet” helped to re-reach out the message of the Prophet to common people. The Imams Council held successful campaigns against singling out the Muslim youths in the neo-colonial designed anti-terrorism hype.

The constitution declares that our country is India is socialist, secular and democratic.. But the Indian administration has gone further on the road in endangering the basic values and policies of the republic .The ground is ready for interference of alien forces. The presence of foreign experts is felt even in running the day-to-day administration. Global financial institutions influence the county’s policies and stands. Jobs are lost due to the globalization.

Calicut: This meeting of National Executive Committee of the Popular Front of India expresses its concern at the division and infighting of the secular forces which may help the fascist forces win more seats by default. It is also unfortunate that no parties or political fronts have been able to present policies or programmes which are fundamentally different from each other or offer alternate development models capable of removing poverty and hunger of the common people. And both the Congress and left parties have sidelined Muslims and other weaker sections in this election also.

Terrorism today is engaging attention of whole world though we are more concerned with terrorism in our own country. There is hardly any country, which is not affected by terrorism today though reasons are widely different. In many countries terrorism is fired by separatist fire. Many regions were included in colonized countries by imperial powers to suit their own convenience least knowing that increased awareness and democratic movements in future would ignite separatist movement and when their aspirations for autonomy or independence are denied violence would be used.
